12 of 12: December 2011 / January 2012

Just because Chad Darnell isn't aggregating people's 12 of 12s anymore doesn't mean I have to stop doing them! I forgot to post for December, but I remembered the photos.

6:47 AM - Eating a bowl of Trix and reading about how Daniel Radcliffe is EW's "Entertainer of the Year".

7:04 AM - T-Shirt of the day: "Cookie Loves Milk" from Threadless.

1:17 PM - The walkway at Fifth and Main leading up to the Belvedere. The statue is of General George Rogers Clark, who served during on the western frontier (at that time, Indiana and Illinois) during the American Revolution.

1:21 PM - The Belle of Louisville, an old steamboat that does river cruises and other things. During the Derby Festival, there is an annual Steamboat Race between the Belle and another boat (it used to be the Delta Queen out of Cincinnati before she was decomissioned a couple of years ago).

1:34 PM - Eyelash perming?

1:4 PM - Across the street from work is a glassworks. It's neat to see them in there working on stuff.

3:39 PM - My daily exercise at work is walking to the top of stairwell, walking back down to the basement, and then walking back to where I started. It's a good quad workout.

4:10 PM - I love me some peppermint tea. It's a bit annoying that they only sell this particular flavor around the holidays.

6:49 PM - This lady was a winner on the OLD Price is Right hosted by Bill Cullen back in 1961. There was no way she wasn't going to get called to "come on down".

7:02 PM - Teeny tiny potatoes. At least that's what Trader Joe's calls them. As good a name as any.

10:50 PM - Note: Square envelopes require more postage. I had a bunch of my cards returned for insufficient postage.

11:23 PM - In the middle of Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States. Reading about Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers, and then the Catonsville Nine.

6:49 AM - Eating a bowl of store-brand Cheerios. I uncharacteristically already finished the Entertainment Weekly this week, so I'm reading the last Good Eats book.

7:10 AM - T-shirt of the day: a Brendan Benson tee.

11:50 AM - Oh no, here comes snow. Time to freak out!

12:07 PM - Watching Family Feud. The question was, "Who is the best-dressed game show host on TV?" Steve Harvey was a bit put out to discover he was answer number 6. (Although this seems to be his expression for surprise, dismay, indignancy... everything but laughing.)

1:18 PM - Thursday puzzles are usually the gimmicky ones of the week. This one had 10 spaces with two letters, one for each Canadian province postal abbreviation.

1:54 PM - Yeah, this is about all the snow we got. Some people have a hard time figuring out whether Louisville is in the South or in the Midwest. We're definitely South, because Midwesterners know how to handle snow.

5:55 PM - One of the casters on my office chair broke the other day, so I stopped by Home Depot to pick up a replacement.

6:14 PM - Luckily, it was just the wheel part that broke, so it's as easy as puling the old bt out and pushing the new one in.

6:16 PM - Good as new.

6:20 PM - Simultaneously thawing fish (wrapped in plastic) and washing out my lunch container. Multi-tasking!

9:18 PM - Yay, 30 Rock is finally back.

11:10 PM - Working on a jigsaw puzzle of Theodore Gray's periodic table poster. It was pretty easy.

11:32 PM - Finishing up a chapter of One of our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fforde. Oh, how I love this series. There's a section here where the characters have a conversation, but by the end, they cant tell who's speaking because there are no identifiers in the text as to who's who. It's that kind of book.

Oops, posted my comment as a reply to Jenny's, rather than to your entry. Trying again:

Yay, I'm glad you're still doing these! I always look forward to seeing what you're reading. And thanks for the heads-up about 30 Rock.
